Mavuno is not about information, but transformation. Exciting worship and hearing God’s word every Sunday
are the means to an end, not an end in themselves. Being at Mavuno should result in life-change; as seen in our work,
parenting, marriage, dating etc. From the believer who has walked with God for many years to the seeker who has not yet
given their life to Christ, we want the testimony of each person at Mavuno to be; “Im not what I’d like to be, but Im sure not
what I used to be”!

In every great mission story, there’s a moment when an ordinary person is recruited into something bigger than themselves. They’re trained, tested, opposed, and pushed beyond comfort. But what makes them extraordinary isn’t their background—it’s their obedience to the assignment.
In Matthew 10:16–23, Jesus does the same thing. He sends His disciples out like sheep among wolves. No glamour. No guarantees of ease. Just a clear mission. He recruits them, shapes their conduct, warns them of the cost, anchors their confidence in the Spirit, and calls them to endure to the end.

First Fruits
In Biblical times, when harvest time came, God called his people to bring their “first fruits” – the first yield from their harvest to him as an offering. This demonstrated their obedience and reverence for God, and showed that they trusted Him to provide for them.
The Hebrew word for first fruit is ‘bikkurim’—literally translated to ‘promise to come’. The Israelites saw these first fruits as freeing their future. God told them that if they brought their first fruits to him, he would bless all that came afterward.
